Investment Opportunity: Wind

Small (1 MW) Wind Project in Sardinia

The project will be built high up on a rocky mesa, on land leased from a farmer with huge flocks of sheep. It features little if any development risk, as the grid connection permit has already been received from ENEL (Italian electric utility), the construction is permitted by the city council, and all feasibility and environmental studies have been completed.

Further, there is little operating risk, as the project boasts an excellent wind resource (over 6 m/s), a very hefty feed-in tariff (268€/MWh for 20 years), and a full service O&M contract.

The developers have a tagline for the project which makes sense to me: “The simplicity of small wind turbines, the profitability of big wind farms.”
