Generating Demand for Microwind
I’m excited to have been hired by Xzeres Corp. (microwind) to help out with some marketing actions. I propose to start by compiling a few case studies, documenting on camera the success of residential customers and those in different industries (schools, farms, manufacturing, etc.) that have used the Xzeres small wind solution to offset the retail rate of electricity – which, in some parts of the world, is outrageously expensive. The on-peak rate for commercial enterprises in Sao Paulo is $2 a kilowatt-hour! Wind makes sense in a heck of hurry under conditions like those.
I’m looking forward to having some fun with this project, plying the skills I had developed over a 25-year period in marketing, while generating demand for something that makes a difference in terms of sustainability.
Btw, I took the picture here a few months ago on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. I don’t know whose product it is, but it’s far from an ideal installation; wind turbines should be at least 30 feet above trees, buildings, silos, etc. — for at least 500 feet in any direction.
