Tesla and the Amazing Elon Musk
I follow the discussion on the financial site Seeking Alpha concerning the stock price of Tesla. On any given day when the market is open, there will be at least a handful of comments – some of them bullish, others bearish — but all very well-reasoned. Today, for instance, there was a product recall (bad) but more than counter-balanced by the blowing away of sales projections; Tesla announced that it had shipped 6,900 vehicles for Q4 2013, where the expectation was 6,000 vehicles.
Is Tesla’s network of solar-powered fast-charging stations a “game-changer” (as everyone likes to say)? I have to say that it really could be. Leave it to Elon Musk to identify every conceivable objection the public could have, than systematically eradicate them. Worried about the eco-issues of burning more coal? Have concerns about range and the limitations for those who want to take long trips? Not now.
The man really is amazing.
