Ultra-Right-Wing Works Hard to Suppress Renewable Energy–But Is Support Waning?
I spend an hour or so every day on my new book project: Bullish on Renewable Energy – Eleven Reasons Why Clean Energy Investors Can’t Lose. Actually, the current count is 14, but since that changes every time I have a new idea or decide to consolidate two similar chapters, I might as well stick with 11 for now.
Here’s a new one: Support Is Waning for Ultra-Right-Wing Causes That Work to Suppress Renewables
It seems to me that the forces that have had a chilling effect on the migration to renewables Americans for Prosperity (supported by Koch Industries) and the American Legislative Exchange Council may be losing steam. I need to corroborate this, but it’s hard to imagine that the implosion of Rush Limbaugh, to take an example, isn’t somehow a function of a larger trend away from idiocy. Americans are tiring of listening to hate speech, couched in distorted or entirely imaginary “facts.”
It’s only a matter of time before everyday Americans see past this baloney and realize that climate change is real, that the aromatics from fossil fuels are causing lung disease and destroying our oceans, and that they’ve been lied to. They’re not going to be too happy about that.
