Tesla Motors: A Subject of Conversation Like No Other
Tesla Motors receives more free ink every day than most cleantech concerns get in a decade, and this is understandable, as:
• There’s a bunch at stake here, in terms of the future of transportation
• The concept that cars from start-ups can be made and sold profitably really did stun the world, and continues to do so
• The company’s new offering (Model X — pictured here) greatly expands the marketplace
• The “gigafactory” concept is noteworthy in its own right
• Elon Musk has become known as someone against whom no one wants to bet
• The volatility of the company’s stock price continues to generate a great deal of conversation
So why did their VP of communications quit to go to Aston Martin (one of few OEMs without an EV program — a company with no bearing whatsoever on the future of transportation)? I don’t know, but I agree that this is a red flag.
