Nuclear Energy Experts Debate the Health-Related Effects of Radiation

Contributor “A” – The existence of life more than 3 billion years ago in Australia, when radiation was 8x higher from potassium 40 and 16x higher from uranium 235 should raise serious doubts in anyone about (these low limits) …. How does D. Radiodurans (a strain of extremely radiation-resistant bacteria) survive 5000 times what we can?

Contributor “B” – The existence of life in higher radiation environments in the distant past says nothing at all about cancer risks for complex organisms like mammals as a function of radiation damage to cells.   When was the last time you observed a single cell organism get cancer? That there are life forms that are more resistant to (radiation) exposure says nothing about the cancer risk to more complex organisms like mammals.

Thanks, (contributor “B”), for sorting this out. Here’s your next task: Please try to get this across to the people at Fox News, who report that large doses of radiation generally have positive effects on human health.  Check out the video, and be prepared to be amazed.
