As a side note, I believe that carbon sequestration is a non-starter; we have a far greater opportunity to move to a low-carbon economy than we do perpetuating our dependence on fossil fuels and capturing the carbon.
Sev Clarke, a brilliant reader from Australia notes: I agree that CCS, as it is commonly understood, is a non-starter. However you might care to consider the feasibility and effectiveness of the following alternative CCS method described here, with supporting documentation here.
Documents in the latter url also describe a breakthrough method for cooling the globe, generating renewable energy, stabilizing glaciers & the polar vortex, and reducing/harvesting fugitive polar methane emissions.
