A Great Deal of News re: Renewables Energy Will Be Bad Until We Fix This

My fine friend Brian McGowan writes about this article, which offers bad news for the solar industry in Nevada: You know about this right?

Yes, I’m aware of it.  But it doesn’t come as any surprise given the way we regulate and incentive our power utilities.  As long we as a society refuse to price in all the lung disease ($700B/year according to the Harvard Medical School), and all the costs of climate change, ocean acidification, loss of biodiversity, etc., we are, de facto, accepting business-as-usual from the energy industry. There really is nothing unexpected about this at all, even though it seems so unacceptable to people like you and me, insofar as it means dooming our children to unprecedented levels of suffering.

Sorry I can’t take a more upbeat, or any other helpful posture vis-vis this tragic situation.  All I can do is to write and speak to those who happened to be interested in the subject and hope it’s not “too little too late.”
