We All Make a Far Greater Difference Than We Can Possibly Know
It’s heartening to look through the comments to my recent post: “The Environmental Movement: Too Conciliatory?” — insofar as many point out the role of the individual in determining the course of history. We have FAR greater capacity to change the world than we realize. That’s one of the top themes of the whole 2GreenEnergy enterprise, perhaps best epitomized by the famous quote from cultural anthropologist Margaret Mead: Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.

From a post many years ago: Henry Kissinger said recently: “If it weren’t for the objection of the common American to the war in Vietnam, we’d still be there.” (emphasis mine) That’s an amazing thing to admit, don’t you think? Don’t you feel somehow motivated to exercise your muscles as a citizen? Of course you do.
On a related matter, I try to create our daily Instagram feed so that it appeals to a maximum number of people, and inspires as many of them as possible to action. So far, it seems that the most effective way of getting that done is to remind people that they make a difference. For example, see today’s post above. The caption: The world really is going green. And the reason? You and I. We make a far greater difference than we realize.
