Articles on CleanTech Hang Around for Quite a While
One of the beauties of writing stuff in the Internet age is the longevity the pieces enjoy; it’s possible that as many people are reading articles I wrote a couple of years ago as are following my daily blog.
Here’s a good example: Howie, a gentleman previously unknown to me, asks: Hi, Craig. I just read this article on Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion you wrote a few years back. I hear they are still moving forward with their business. In your opinion, is their business still worth keeping an eye on? Above is the link to your write up. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.
I respond:
Howie: Yes, it’s most definitely worth keeping an eye on. I happen to be a shareholder, which enables me to receive their monthly newsletters. Based on what I read, I think there’s a good chance that they will be successful. If you’d like to know more about the company, I would urge you to contact them directly. They have a very robust investor relations department, and I know they would be anxious to have a discussion with you on the subject.
As I wrote to the CEO and CFO:
I thought you’d be interested to know that I continue to generate some level of interest in your fine company from some of the articles I’ve written on it over the years. If you check out the correspondence that I had with “Howie” here, you’ll see that he’s referring to a piece I wrote for an online publication called The Hedge Connection, which boasts a wide readership of hedge fund managers, family offices, private equity people, etc. I’m glad to hear that things are progressing for you. Keep up the good work. – Craig
It’s true that many of my attempts to connect cleantech entrepreneurs with sources of investment capital have not yet born fruit, but a) a few have, and b) I’m confident that persistence will prevail.
