Violations of the Laws of Thermodynamics
I try not to be too nasty to people who send me stuff, regardless of how ridiculous it may appear. Here’s a sample dialog that happened just a couple of minutes ago:
Message: Inventor Seeking Investments For Technological Development
Inventor holds patents in breakthrough energy generating technology with very high return potential.
Detailed analysis of Northeastern University laboratory data reveals certain thermodynamic anomalies in energy transducer materials (cross coupling coefficients not equal). Such anomalies would make it possible to extract usable (free) energy from the ambient temperature heat environment.
It is reasonably calculated that a net (free) output power density of 4-6 KW/cubic-meter with no fuel source can be achieved through proper cyclic excitation of these materials.
Detailed presentations are available at the offices of Cesari & McKenna LLP, Boston.
I respond:
I’m skeptical but interested! 🙂
Please send me information, including a video of a working model, on this apparent violation of the laws of thermodynamics.
Well done Craig. Skeptical but open minded.
I think we will eventually find technology that seems to violate the laws of thermodynamics. From that point we will either modify our understanding of those laws as we did with atomic energy or find the previously unaccounted for energy that initially seemed to be “free.” I am personally fascinated with the concept of the “Earth battery” that was used to supply the very modest power for telegraph upon a time.
Either way the term “free” when applied to energy is a bit of a “scammers” “come on.” A more scientifically based discovery would shy away from making such claims.
