What Are the Koch Brothers Up To?

Whatever else they are, the Koch Brothers aren’t stupid. They’ve made it clear that their focus this election cycle isn’t the presidency — it’s maintaining a Senate majority that will back their dangerous agenda.
The Koch Brothers know that even if climate champion Hillary Clinton wins the presidency, a Mitch McConnell-led Senate will continue doing all they can to block progress on the environment. They will stonewall any action on climate change. They will attack climate scientists and try to cut funding for the EPA. And they will try to weaken or overturn regulations on polluters in the coal and oil industries.
The Kochs and their Big Polluter allies are targeting pro-environment candidates in races across the country. And that means we need to put everything we’ve got into the fight for the Senate.
I’m afraid all this is completely true. And yes, these people aren’t stupid—except in the limited sense that destroying our planet isn’t a particularly smart thing to do.
I do not understand this. How can it be that the Koch brothers are unconcerned about the welfare of their children, their grandchildren, and everyone else on this planet? It seems that they are most concerned about becoming even more wealthy than they already are and that that is more important to them than anything else.
How can it be….? Beats the you-know-what out of me.
But it’s nice to have a “villain” (especially an unrepentant rich one) to revile !
That’s the problem with polarizing politics, both sides get lost in a welter of name calling and increasingly extravagant claims, until the broad centre decides “a Pox on both your houses”, and either losses faith in the electoral process, or votes for populist candidates.
