DiCaprio, Climate Change, and a Carbon Fee
Here is a conversation I’m having with a reader that I thought I’d share.
Reader: This piece on Leonardo DiCaprio’s documentary on climate change is interesting.
Craig: Indeed it’s interesting. IMO, DiCaprio is one of the most impressive people ever to walk the planet. In terms of transforming public opinion about environmental stewardship, he gets more done in ten minutes than I accomplish in a year.
Reader: I wish you and he would run for congress or president, Btw, what do yo think about Citizen’s Climate Lobby and a fee on carbon? Can you mention it in your blog? It is revenue neutral and bipartisan.
Craig: I think it’s a fine organization with a good plan. The only proviso that I would add is that the carbon fee has to be administered such that it doesn’t make American goods less competitive than those coming from Asia.
