Dr. Tom Konrad Offers Insight on the Trump Administration’s Impact on Clean Energy
Here’s a CNBC interview featuring my colleague Tom Konrad, whom I interviewed for my second book: Is Renewable Really Doable? Tom runs AltEnergyStocks.com and is thus frequently sought after for comment on economic issues associated with renewable energy. Tom makes the point that the Trump administration does not represent a headwind for renewables, but rather a reduced tailwind. I respond:
Great job, Tom. I like your analogy of the “reduced tailwind”; I hope it turns out that you’re right. It’s certainly true that people are making money with solar and wind, and that no one on Earth, regardless of how emotionally unstable, has the power to change that basic economic fact. It’s also true, however, that the legal apparatus that supports the integration of renewables into the grid-mix is under attack, and that this attack can only be expected to become more ferocious over the next two years at least.
