A Contributed Post: Geospatial Intelligence Is Helping the Green Energy Movement
Technology has always been the driving force behind green energy developments. We’ve reached an amazing level of efficiency in terms of how renewable, natural energy sources are harvested. We also have newer technologies designed to make green energy consumer-friendly and more accessible. Another crucial piece of technology that’s helping the green energy movement is geospatial intelligence.
According to studies by the University of Southern California, geospatial intelligence is helping map weather and wind conditions, landforms and water bodies, all of which are crucial in the discovery of new renewable energy sources. There are even those pursuing an online geographic information science and technology degree in order to jump into the industry. The demand for GIST specialists is increasing rapidly as more companies begin to focus on renewable energy as a viable replacement for fossil fuel.
