A Contributed Post: Environmentalism–Let Your Inner Beauty Shine
Being an environmentalist is one of the greatest things anyone can do with their life. If you love our planet so much that you have incorporated new practices into your daily rhythm, such as reducing your use of plastics, making sure to recycle any materials that go through your household that can be recycled, and being sure to use all items for as long as possible, then you can be proud that you are doing your part. If you truly want to make a difference in the world, then you need to take action in every area of your life.
Just as you make changes to your life with your daily consumption habits, you should also be careful with the types of jewelry you buy. While you want to wear the finest, you also want to make sure that you are getting a great deal. After all, the less money you spend, the less money you have to earn. The less money you have to earn, the less time you have to spend working at a job that is not truly your passion. That means you will have more free time to dedicate to your true passion, which is caring for the planet.
If you do need to invest in high end jewelry on occasion, but want to make sure that you minimize your expenses while you are at it, then you definitely need to take advantage of the amazing deals that Kay Jewelers is offering through Groupon Coupons. Craig,
I’m surprised to see you as a pitchman for an on-line cheap jewellery outlet ?
What’s brought about this change in career ?
Especially odd considering Kay’s is part of the Signet/Sterling group of companies. These corporations are currently being sued by 44,000 female employees and former employees for discrimination and sexual harassment.
The same group are also fighting another class action for failing to disclose the treatments it applied to gemstones to make the stones appear to be of higher quality and more valuable than they were.
While all this is going on, Kay’s are also being investigated by the IRS, and DoJ for tax evasion and money laundering.
The Corporation has quite a history ! It used to be called the “Ratner Group”, but changed it name after CEO and Chairman, Gerald Ratner, made drunken revelations of it’s malpractices and contempt for the company’s customers, even going so far as to call the companies products “total crap”.
Kay’s COE (Sterling/signet) registered office is in the tax haven of Bermuda, which may explain why the current CEO (salary $10 million plus) holds compulsory office pool parties (no spouses invited) for it’s younger female employees, and senior male executives.
Naturally, such a price discounting, cost cutting company wouldn’t want to burden it’s employees with extra expenses, so eliminated the wearing of swimming attire for the younger female employees.
Like you Craig, I accept CEO Mark Light’s explanation that his naked frolics in the pool with “nude and partially undressed female employees”, was simply an act of solidarity and a desire to put poorer employees at ease by sharing cases of $300 dollars bottles of champagne.
Obviously, CEO Mark Light’ effort to turn back employer/employee relations to the late fifties and early sixties, was well intended and just meant to give the younger employees a sense of history !
The story in the Washington Post Signet about senior managers sending “scouting parties” to find attractive female employees to attend its mandatory annual meeting which culminated in a “boozy, no-spouses-allowed ‘sex-fest’”, was a complete media beat-up, and a huge conspiracy by thousands of employees over many years.
The hero’s are Signet/Stirling’s lawyers who have kept the case in court more for over eight years, even the pregnancy charges remain unsettled.
(Some of those children may be old enough to become lawyers themselves by the time the case settles!)
So, maybe you will understand my surprise to discover are an admirer of a CEO, and corporation whose behavior makes Donald Trump look like a boy scout !
Oh, and Kay’s products ? They’re still overvalued rubbish, or in their own words, “total crap”.
