Certain Industries Kick Butt in Terms of Environmental Stewardship
If we had to pick an industry (outside of cleantech per se) that sits at the pinnacle of environmental responsibility, beer microbreweries wouldn’t be a bad choice.
Almost every one has a “Chief Sustainability Officer,” whose job is to make sure the organization is doing everything possible at all levels to reduce the eco-footprint associated with sourcing raw materials, brewing the beer with the highest possible amount of waste heat, and then doing all kinds of wonderful things with distribution.
Here’s a classic example: packaging for six-packs of beer made of edible material, eliminating the dangers such products pose to aquatic life. Bravo to this incredible demonstration of thinking outside the box.
