Like All Flavors of Renewable Energy, Geothermal Keeps Improving
There is no doubt that geothermal energy occupies an important place in the pantheon of renewable resources. Perhaps the post child of success in this endeavor is Iceland, a place where fossil fuels are hard to come by, and one that has geothermal energy coming out its ears.
To make matters even more appealing, the technology in this arena has improved to the point that, by the end of this year, the good folks in Reykjavik will be tapping into molten lava at 1000 C. Needless to say, this means efficiencies far higher than those that are available to most of us elsewhere on the globe.
