U.S. Staffing its Most Important Government Positions with People Who Have Next To Zero Understanding of Science
When I write about the U.S. Department of Energy, now headed by a man whose background in science is no greater than that of an average high school student, that’s certainly in alignment with the theme of 2GreenEnergy. By contrast, my recent posts about Sam Clovis, proposed chief scientist of our Department of Agriculture, may seem a bit off-topic.
That notwithstanding, pictured here is Clovis, President Donald Trump’s pick for that post; he’s strongly argued that homosexuality is a choice and that the sanctioning of same-sex marriage could lead to the legalization of pedophilia. That there is literally zero scientific evidence whatsoever to support either of these positions doesn’t seem to be an issue. It’s all part of getting used to living in a country in which facts no longer matter.
Perhaps we should comfort ourselves in the knowledge that he’s not being put in charge of America’s physical fitness initiatives.
