Sorry for Being Off-Topic, But I Can’t Resist an Occasional Note on Current Events

IMG_1324-682x351 (1)According to this report:

Some employees at Fox News were left embarrassed and humiliated by their network’s coverage of the latest revelations in special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian election meddling, according to conversations CNN had with several individuals placed throughout the network.  “I’m watching now and screaming,” one Fox News personality said in a text message to CNN as the person watched their network’s coverage. “I want to quit.”  “It is another blow to journalists at Fox who come in every day wanting to cover the news in a fair and objective way,” one senior Fox News employee told CNN of their outlet’s coverage, adding that there were “many eye rolls” in the newsroom over how the news was covered.  The person said, “Fox feels like an extension of the Trump White House.”

A couple of reactions:

It’s hard to have too much sympathy for someone who goes to work for Fox News and then is sickened by the way they cover the news.  Seriously, that’s just now becoming clear?

If, for some reason these folks are truly embarrassed by the coverage of the first indictments, take my advice: Head for the hills!  This is just the start.

It’s hard to guess how Fox News will spin this when it really gets hot; they may play it to the hilt.  The more of the Trump administration that gets carted off to prison, the more they they may be saying, “Eeewww, this looks really bad for Hillary Clinton.” Who knows?  It’s impossible to guess. It’s a function of what they think they can get away with, which seems to be limitless.

After the guilt plea by George Papadopoulos, it’s hard to imagine that Jeff Sessions won’t be indicted for perjury.  It’s 100% clear that he’s lied under oath on several occasions.  Again, it’s really difficult to muster sympathy for this utterly despicable human being.

OK, that’s all for now.  I feel much better, thank you.  Back to renewable energy and the environment.

    Craig,

Whew! Well I’m glad you got that little rant out of the way.

I’m still not sure how Jeff Sessions and George Papadopoulos are connected, but no doubt you have some source of information not yet released.

Or a you just repeating conjecture raised in the New Republic magazine based on a possible interpretation of the following exchange:-

Senator Al Franken (D): “If there is any evidence that anyone affiliated with the Trump campaign communicated with the Russian government in the course of this campaign, what will you do?”

Jeff Sessions : “Senator Franken, I’m not aware of any of those activities. I have been called a surrogate at a time or two in that campaign and I didn’t have — did not have communications with the Russians, and I’m unable to comment on it.”

    New Republic:

George Papadopoulos’s guilty plea indicates that there were attempts in the Trump campaign to arrange a meeting with Putin, and Sessions may have been aware of them. A CNN reporter interpreted this as, “As chairman of Trump’s national security team, Jeff Sessions, shut down the idea of a Putin meeting at the March 31, 2016, gathering, according to the (unnamed)source. His reaction was confirmed with another (unammed) source who had discussed Sessions’s role.”

    Hmmmmm,..so that’s really the basis for your “100 % “accusation ?

Two unnamed sources and a discussion about the candidate meeting with an important Head of State at an open and highly publicized event ?

I mean c’mon, is that really the best you have ?

In contrast we do have admissions that not only paid employees of the Clinton campaign, but the candidate herself, funded foreign intelligence agents, (including Russian agents )with the covert knowledge and permission of both the FBI and CIA to compile and disseminate a “dirt File” on Donald Trump.

I don’t know about you, but to me that seems far more serious and corrupt.

But, then I’m not selectively outraged.
