Hogging, Defiling Natural Resources Becoming a Social Stigma

Most people think less of those who smoke cigarettes; in fact, some would rather be in the presence of projectile vomiters.  Here’s good news for our society: we’re starting to place the same type of social stigma on those who carelessly ruin our environment.

Here’s a story that pertains to ostracizing those who use plastic drinking straws, but it certainly has parallels into other aspects of our culture.  I’ve seen people “flip off” Hummer drivers; the message: you’re contemptible.

Once it becomes truly uncool to be environmentally inconsiderate, we’ll be in very good shape in short order.
