Waterlily Turbine Charges the Cellphones of the True Morons Out There
I don’t think I know anyone stupid enough to pay $160 for a device that requires a gushing stream or a stiff, steady breeze (and the time to position it properly) to do the job performed by a $25 piece of solar PV. And I’d like to keep it that way; if you bought one of these, please don’t tell me. 🙂
Those who spend days at a time exploring extremely deep caves or the arctic in the dead of winter can get a $5 hand crank charger, or $15 for a deluxe model.
Craig,
Well, I’m not into camping or outdoor adventures in remote places, but I don’t think I’d go so far as calling the owners of this device ‘morons’ !
I completely agree it appears to be little more than an expensive toy, but then so are many of the accoutrements purchased by such hobbyists. I can see this product being purchased by devotees of river fishing etc, who are only too delighted to spend quite large sums on their pastimes.
It appears to be sturdily built and long lasting, as it should be for the price !
