Vonnegut Was Among the Best of Us

If you were charged with the task of introducing a single human being to the president of an alien presence that had found its way to Earth, you’d want someone who represents the very best in our species.  OK, so what characteristics would guide your decision-making?   For me, it would be a blend of intelligence, kindness, integrity, a commitment to peace and the alleviation of human suffering–with perhaps a “lightness” and sense of humor thrown in for extra measure.   

In today’s world, Pope Francis and the Dalai Lama stand out.  Having said that, I count Kurt Vonnegut among the best people who have ever walked this planet.  The more you learn about him, the more impressed you’ll be.
