Is America Going To Be OK?

To answer that question, here’s Barack Obama.

Not to sound obnoxious, but, had I been asked to write this for him, I would have nailed it within a few words here or there.  America will be fine as long as we participate in the democratic process and vote for leaders who reflect true American values: honesty, compassion, and fairness.

Not to sound even more obnoxious, but good luck with that.  Besides, this doesn’t really answer the question.  Of course, what Obama said is true.  But we’ve already shown that we can elect as president a pathological liar, sex abuser, xenophobe, bigot, who destroys the environment for profit, admires tyrants, insults our allies, loots the treasury to provide tax cuts for his cronies/mega-donors, and uses his office for personal gain.

This is all proven, but it can, and probably will, get a lot worse.  What’s still to come forward is the entirety of the Mueller investigation.  We can expect this to get quite hot indeed after the mid-term elections.

In any case, if we elected someone this vile once, what’s to say we won’t do it again?
