Natural Resources Defense Council
The Natural Resources Defense Council is a United States-based, non-profit international environmental advocacy group. When I interviewed one of their most senior attorneys, Johanna Wald, for my first book, she had been with the NRDC for 35 years; she’s since retired. She told me about the need to have a kind of “watchdog,” and explained how the NRDC functions, using litigation to prevent the ruination of our country’s natural resources.
At the time (2009), she pointed out that the Obama administration was trying hard to promote renewables; God only knows what she’s saying about what we have today.
Here’s a fabulous video that presents some of the major victories the NRDC has provided us.
