Wow, It Really IS Hot in Arizona
The race for the open senate seat in Arizona, Kyrsten Sinema (D) vs. Martha McSally (R), is one of the most hotly contested in the country. RealClearPolitics has it as a tie.
Here’s some breaking news: NBC News/Marist shows the Green Party candidate, Angela Green, polling at 6%, but Green has just pulled out of the race and is asking her supporters to vote for Sinema.
This is a wise and gracious gesture, one that we’d like to see happen more often. I won’t even list all the things I dislike about the Democratic party, but the alternative is catastrophe. We just saw what happens when the ticket gets split with real progressives: Donald Trump winds up as leader of the free world.
Yes, this is just one senate race; is it really a big deal? Well, here’s what the Republicans want to make happen: Christianity is re-introduced into the public sector, abortion becomes illegal, guns of all types are completely unrestricted, same-sex marriage becomes illegal, the ACA is repealed and 27 million people lose healthcare, public schools are damaged, prison sentences are lengthened, a wall is built on the southern border, oil and gas pipelines are built all over North America, and the U.S. military is expanded even further. That’s worth avoiding, IMO.

Yep, all those GOP meanies, not only will they do all that, but they’ll burn down your barn and turn the milk sour !
It’s good to see you are reading RealClear at last :). It will be a close race, although McSally is starting to pull ahead especially in the more remote areas.

It should be interesting to see what happens. I do agree it’s a really big deal we might pay for in the future.
Maybe sooner than we’d like….
