May Peace Prevail on Earth

Many thanks to all our contributors, clients, and supporters.

This little angel’s shirt says it all.  Environmental sustainability, not to mention world peace, would be a foregone conclusion if everyone lived according to this concept.

Let’s make 2019 the year that human civilization really turns all this insanity around.  Now’s a good time to make the decision:

• There will be no border wall, and the U.S. will process asylum-seekers according to international law.

• The U.S. government will cease ignoring science and begin to lead the world in terms of environmental stewardship.

• The truth re: Mueller and Trump will emerge and the chips will fall where they may; the important thing here is that justice is done.

• The growing income inequality will reverse course.

• We’ll find a way to get big money out of politics.

• People around the world will begin to see others according to our common humanity and less according to our surface-level differences.

Things happen when people decide that they should. Let’s all do this together.

Again, best wishes to you.

Today was the 50th anniversary of the Earthrise photo. That photo made it abundantly clear we are all in it together existentially. I wish more of us actually felt those emotions of overview. Happy holidays.

    Craig,

All the best to you and your family for Christmas and the New Year.

Hopefully, the spirit of Christmas will not completely dissipate with the advent of boxing day.

This Christmas I decided to remain in Australia for Christmas and spend time with my oldest son and his family. I’ve been blessed by enjoying a productive year and rewarded myself by ordering a new special edition “founder’s model’ Tesla roadster (hopefully, the first RHD cars will be delivered in late 2020).

Our Family foundation was greatly enriched by a spate of selling down of all our crypto-currency holdings just before the bear market and we have been able to use this bonanza to fund a number of clean technology projects for those less fortunate than ourselves in rural Australia.

My oldest son has worked tirelessly for many years as a Doctor among some of the least affluent rural Australians, and his family has suffered some deprivations as a result of his altruism.

Four years ago my daughter managed to persuade my son to accept funding from our family foundation for infrastructure projects and also provide his family with some of the comforts we take for granted.

At this time of the year, we always take time to work out what philanthropic projects we can undertake in the following year to help our fellow citizens who may have been forgotten or left behind, not just those who are less affluent, but an increasing number of folk who are just lonely or have no one who cares whether they live or die.

This year, I was astounded to by chance encounter an old friend and colleague and was astonished to discover he was spending Christmas alone. His problem isn’t a lack of wealth, but since he retired, life seems to have passed him by. He lives alone, with no family, and has outlived most of his friends and acquaintances.

Sometimes living in a city of 5 million doesn’t help if you’re too embarrassed or withdrawn to admit you’re all alone. His live is one of resigned, quiet depression. As the ‘baby boom’ population ages, I can see this becoming a huge problem.

I wonder just how many how many are like him ?

Suddenly, I’m aware that despite all the family squabbles and controversies in my life, I’m truly blessed by being surrounded by an all too active group of friends, family and colleagues who may not always agree, but at least have each other to share life and love with one another.

I’m sure we can all agree, we are all members of the “family of Man” and this is the season to reach out and reclaim those family members who have got lost, been forgotten, or just seem invisible as we get older. We don’t have to go to some disaster area, or third world country, just reaching out and including those in your street or apartment building, or looking up old acquaintances, might make a difference in someones life.

    Happy holidays.

It is true ppl who choose life to help others suffer
      I dont know why?
When I read I do suffered helping helpless womens “WHICH I THOUGHT AND HAD CONCERN TO UPLIFT THEM LOST HUGE SOME CASH AND MY PEACE OVER AND ABOVE MY PRECISIE TIME I LOST MOST OF MY PRODUCTIVE LIFE FIGHTING THEM OUT THEY ALL MADE UP A GANG OF CRIMINALS AND WAS BLACK MAILING ME FOR MORE MONEY TO TAKE
BUT I BELIEVED IN MY ALMIGHTY NOTHING HAPPENED I CONTROLLED THEIR BULLYING BUT LOST MY OWN PEACE
Knowing your son story I feel this is natural or the work loads or simplicity in life takes it toil

In the past year we’ve made no progress in cutting back on our release of carbon emissions into earth’s atmosphere, in fact the rate of release is going up. By refusing to accept that we must process municipal wastes and urban wastes and agricultural and industrial wastes into various forms of energy we instead burn forests as a result of our stupidity and release far more C02.

I’ve seen hundreds of news releases, position papers and other types of documents and all point to the fact that all of those nice sounding things we wish for are available as soon as we come to our senses and realize to fight induced global warming we have to have modern weapons to fight with.

    I kept wondering what to add to this, then todays morning reading had this quote;
“The peace of men will settle the earth”- Mary Summer Rain
    The reading continues;
“There is no way we can heal the earth without healing the people, there is no way to heal the people without healing the earth.
In Samoan medicine, when a person gets sick, the healer always looks at what is going on in the family, the village, and the culture. There is no concept of the person existing in isolation or out of context”
May we all work to bring harmony between our world and our people.
    Happy New Year!

  11. Llord Aidoo says:

The current world aeagerly waits our “gifts” – (pardon, it’s The Universe itself that stands bereft!) – out of our love and compassion. Indeed in these hard-to-know terrains where we’re all “Travellers” certainly, no sets of our humble contributions are necessarily “time bound.” Yet the end (and beginning) of time’s mighty, unending cycles often lure me, like most of our common lot, into this supposed sense of renewal by which I clamor for fresh resolutions, and so on, to navigate the new shift on the calender as though it were some freshly discovered ridge requiring very careful treading lest I lost a footing here or there, and tumbled down some dark abyss! CS, owing to the diverse exigencies confronting us presently, “Birthplace:Earth…” teaches all conscious spirits an intriguing lesson: Discard The Redundant Resolution Ritual, And Tax Every BreathThis 019 As If It’s Your Very Last! (It’s a solemn new call to duty: Cease The Moment…N O W.) Firm our grips on the oars, folks. Happy 019 – everyone of us!
