Electric Transportation 2019 Predictions : Yet Another Record?

My colleague Jon LeSage, who writes the Green Auto Digest, provides the world an extremely valuable service–at absolutely no cost.  It’s essentially everything you need to know about the progress that electric transportation and other alt-fueled vehicles are making, including all market entrants, sales volumes, driver feedback, etc.

Here are his notes for plug-in vehicle sales for 2018:  Finalized plug-in vehicle sales figures will be coming out in the next few days for December and all of 2018; but so far, it was clearly a year of record-setting plug-in hybrid and battery electric vehicles sales in the U.S. through November, U.S. sales were at 312,887 for plug-in vehicles, compared to 194,479 for all of 2017, according to Electric Drive Transportation Association.

I hope you’ll check out the report linked above; it’s pithy, and it’s excellent stuff.

    Craig,

I’m always pleased when I see an increase in EV adoption, even if it’s just mainly hybrid adoption.

However, it’s also important to keep things in perspective. In the US, over 16 million new vehicles were sold in 2018. That means over 98% were powered by gasoline-diesel.

Over the years, Jon Le Sage has worked hard as an advocate for EV and alternative fueled vehicles and his efforts are often under appreciated.
