What will happen when our civilization phases out fossil fuels in favor of renewables? Well, obviously, you have the end of dependence on oil and the dominance of oil-rich countries in favor of what’s been called the “democritization of energy.”

You also have a huge boost for countries that have already been aggressive in developing clean energy technologies. That’s good news for China. The U.S.? Not so much.

News flash: The concepts of a) making America great again and b) letting it drift in irrelevance in the global technology market are mutually inconsistent.

   Craig,

   I hate to correct you, but China is not a leader in clean renewable energy ! The Peoples Republic is a leader in terms of dissembling propaganda, but that’s not quite the same thing !

   The US economy is only surviving at the moment due to the technologies and innovations of the fossil fuel industry which has turned America into an energy power house.

   It’s not possible to achieve any innovation or development of new technology without a strong, prosperous economy. The US is a long, long way ahead of China in terms of innovation, but less so in terms of IP theft, espionage, environmental and human rights violations and delusional propaganda.
