We Want Public Transportation
“Socketwrench” here makes an excellent point. It’s ironic that the next new thing in transportation is the removal of the driver while preserving everything else, since this accomplishes very little of what we actually need, i.e., the means of moving our bodies and our stuff around without simultaneously moving around 4000 pounds of steel. Yes, it’s a way of keeping the automakers and oil companies alive and well, but that’s about it.
What can you say when you live in a city in which public transportation doesn’t go to the airport (like Los Angeles)? It’s a fail, moreover, a deliberate fail.
