The Impact of One’s Career on Humankind
Now that my kids have entered the workforce, I get to reflect on what they’re doing with their lives and the impact they will ultimately have on human civilization. I’m very glad that neither of them works for Nestle (or Coke, or McDonalds, etc.). I know everyone has to make a living, but I feel sorry for those who need to do so by making the world a dirtier and more disease-prone place to live.
Craig,
Well done ! Once again you have insulted and alienated 310,000 people working for the 160 years old world’s largest food company Nestle, Nesltle’s more than 35 billion customers, and about 6 million people indirectly relying on this corporations for their livelihood.
You then proceed to insult those who work or are customers of Coke And McDonalds, which between them are roughly the same size and number of employees.
Irresponsible simplistic demands and moral sanctimony if allowed to prevail don’t help the environment and just make it harder to gain acceptance and adoption of new technology and innovation.
It also creates a nasty sort of divisiveness in society. Naturally, people resent being ostracized by self-righteous moral prigs with suspiciously hidden agenda.
Craig,
Oh how you despise Nestle, yet remain silent about the Peoples Republic of China.
China makes about one third of all the World’s plastic and nearly 53 percent of the world plastic containers. Chinese companies also dominate Plastic production in many developing nations.
China makes no pretense about manufacturing hi-grade bio-degradable, environmentally friendly, recyclable plastic like Nestle uses.
Yet you remain silent,….I wonder why?
