Why Are Toxic Chemicals In Use Here that are Banned Throughout the Rest of the World?
A new study published in the open access journal Environmental Health reports that the U.S. has failed to ban many dangerous and toxic pesticides that are banned throughout the rest of the world, and “Science Rocks” asks, “Why has China, Brazil, and the EU all prohibited the use of these pesticides but the U.S. hasn’t?”
Hmmmm. It couldn’t be that our corporations essentially own our law-making processes, could it? In many cases, this isn’t a case of influence via lobbyists; it’s a case of actually writing the laws themseves. At the same time, the EPA, ostensibly tasked with protecting us from toxic chemicals, is led by former industry executives.
If you’re expecting any other outcome than light and meaningless regulation, you’re kidding yourself.
