Saying Adios to the Endangered Species Act
Folks say that Trump is capricious and unpredictable, but isn’t he really quite the opposite? Virtually every day, we read an announcement of something that is totally offensive to the well-being of the people of Earth; you can almost set your watch by it.
When the latest disgusting policy rolled out by the Trump Administration was announced the other day, i.e., gutting the Endangered Species Act, people cried, “This is outrageous! Who could have predicted such wanton cruelty?”
Uh, how about anybody who’s paying attention? How long did you really think a law would last that is designed to protect our ecosystems? It was a pat of warm butter on a hot griddle.
Craig,
There you go again!
The Trump Administration can’t “gut the act” ! Only Congress can change an act, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is enabled to update or revise certain administrative rules.
For the first time since the 1973 Endangered Species Act was passed, audited accounts will be published so the public can see how much the Act costs to implement. Much of the outrage and indignation stems from this new rule.
What is wrong with the taxpayer knowing?
The administration has also acted to prevent spurious law suits from activists.
Animals such as Polar Bears are certainly no longer endangered. (The Bear Population has quadrupled and now exceeds the population of Polar Bears that ever existed).
Exploration for oil on federal land does not endanger the Bald Eagle, in fact research reveals the exact opposite.
The minor changes will affect some radicals and taxpayer funded time-wasters, but wont hurt any endangered species.
Hmmm,…. although come to think of it, maybe some of those thousands of feather-bedding, taxpayer funded time-wasters encouraged by Obama to multiply, could be considered an “endangered species” under this administration…….
