Are We Screwed?
If you’re offended by vulgar language, you may want to skip this hilarious but deadly accurate video on the state of the planet vis-a-vis climate change. One thing I like about this is that, in addition to its considerable comedic value, it presents a note of optimism layered on top of its core cynicism. Great stuff.
Craig,
It has always been difficult to dispel popular myths and disinformation preached by passionate advocates and ideologues.
Recently the leaders of the nations meeting at the South Pacific forum met to castigate the Australian Prime Minister for his moderate stance on sea level rise and climate change.
A lot of passionate rhetoric was expended on empathy for the low lying Island nation of Tuvalu.
Tuvalu is by all “scientific consensus” about disapear beneath to ocean over the next two years!
Imagine the horror and outrage when an Australian conservative member of parliament contradicted the celebrated scientific consensus, claiming the science was wrong and the Island nation was actually rising, not sinking !
The media went into a frenzy of hatred and derision . The professionally outraged went into overdrive with an orgy of indignation.
However, The issue quickly died (without apology) once a fact check revealed the politician to be correct and the cash grab by the Tuvalu to have no plausible basis.
These are sorts of climate change frauds that reinforce disbelief and create suspicion.
