Is the Treason a Bigger Factor than the Insanity, or Vice Versa?
A reader submits this absolutely stunning piece of artwork and asks, “Are Republican voters finally realizing that they’ve been conned?”
The short answer is no, but that doesn’t apply to everyone. Former Trump supporter and Army veteran, David Weissman, recently expressed his sentiments in an “Open Letter to Moscow Mitch” published by The Times of Israel, that includes the following:
“You are failing the people that (sic) elected you to act as Senator, but instead you act as Russian puppet. You have blocked bipartisan bills that would protect elections in our country. This gives Russia more opportunities to interfere in our elections. You are single handedly putting our Democracy at risk. This is why the people are calling you Moscow Mitch. If you don’t like the nickname, do your job and represent the American people.
I bring this up mainly as evidence that the world of today has ceased to make sense. We didn’t used to have Senate Majority Leaders that were brazenly destroying U.S. democracy. Now, it could be argued that we didn’t have any who were working to make government more transparent and rooted in unbridled corruption, either. I get that, but we have to come to terms with the fact that this is a blend of treason and insanity that has never before been seen outside of banana republics.
