Swaying Public Opinion

Moreover, we seem fairly content with all this; the president has the backing of almost half the electorate, and there is only a tentative initiative to remove him from office.

Where to take this from here remains to be seen.  It seems like a matter of hope.  We need to hope that our society, based largely as it is on prejudgment and hate, will pull itself out of mob rule and back into reason and civility.

Hope,  we’re told, is not a valid strategy.  Perhaps a better one will come along.

    Craig,

You are certainly entitled to your opinions, but you can’t have your own “facts”.

“As evidence: we have a president who habitually lies, a man whose political strategy is fanning the flames of racial, religious, educational, and class divide, and whose federal government is systematically removing science as the basis for its policy-making”

That’s not “evidence”, merely opinion !

Do you ever think your obsessive rants against the President and supporters, may also be “fanning the flames of hatred” ?

Don’t you understand that in your perpetual state of faux “outrage” you are responsible for the very circumstances you claim to oppose ?

    Craig,

Recently, new allegations have been made against Justice Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct when a teenager.

These allegations have absolutely no substance. The allegation arise in a book authored by two NYT reporters.

The book omitted to mention the purported victim not only refused to be interviewed, but denied any such incident ever occurred.

Yet several Democrat Senators and members of Congress have demanded Justice Kavanaugh’s impeachment, denouncing him in the most virulent terms.

The next attempt by Democrat politicians and activists to “get’ Justice kavanaugh was to enlist the services disgraced ‘porn’ lawyer Michael Avenatti who produced a woman who claimed she was gang raped at a high-school party by Mr. Kavanaugh and his friends, as were other young women.

Her story fell apart and she admitted lying for money.

Democratic Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, held a press conference demanding Justice Kavanaugh be stood down and arrested for sexually assaulted a woman on a boat in Newport, in 1985.

After the Judiciary Committee tracked down the accuser, an anti-Trump activist, who’d also called for a military coup. It was clear no such incident had taken place and the complainant was mentally unbalanced.

But, despite all these false and manufactured allegations, the NYT, CNN and Democrat candidates and Legislators still pursued the an allegation made by Sen. Kamala Harris who claimed Judge Kavanaugh had sexually assaulted a woman while driving home from a party.

The accuser was a known Democrat political activist who later admitted her charge was “just a ploy” because of her indignation of the election of President Trump. When sked by the FBI if she’d ever met Judge Kavanaugh, she said, “Oh Lord, no.” !

She felt no shame in lying “in a good cause”.

Nor does Democrat Sen,Feinstein see any need to apologize for deliberately misleading the Senate, or instructing Ms. Ford to lie to the US Senate in her testimony when accusing Judge Kavanaugh.

While even after a year has passed, not a single witness has emerged to corroborate Ms Ford’s account, her close, lifelong friend has not only refused to back up her account, but now denies ever attending such a party and never met Brett Kavanaugh.

She admits now disbelieving Ms. Ford’s story, and confessed Ms Ford related to her that Ms Ford’s recollection of the incident improved after several expert reconstructions and rehearsals by lawyers and other testimony coaching provided by Sen. Feienstein and other Democrats.

Naturally, Ms. Ford feels no shame in lying to the Senate, as her testimony was in a “good cause”!

CNN’s theory that with so many accusations there must be something wrong, is accurate! There is something very wrong! It would appear NYT, CNN and other media outlets have conspired with democrat politicians and perjured witnesses to attack and besmirch an innocent individual.

Craig, the issue for you is to decide whether you still wish to “hunt with this pack” ? Is your commitment to “social justice and the truth” restricted just to those whom you like ?

Like you, the progressive left increasing interprets politics as public theatre. A sot of dramatic soap opera with heroes and villains, cheers and hisses from the audience, even child actors and outfits from “The Handmaid’s Tale.”

Modern politics appears to have become spectator entertainment and diversion. The spectacle needs more an d more sensation to keep the audience interested.

The question you should be asking in your relentless obssession, is , “have I no shame” ?
