Details Versus the Larger Picture
Sometimes the fine points are important, as this magnificent detail from a Rembrandt (larger version below).
Other times, all we really need to do is hit the broad side of the barn. We need to finds ways to decarbonize our energy and transportation, and we need to reduce our consumption of red meat. We need to live according to the notion of sustainability, i.e., satisfying our needs without preventing future generations from satisfying theirs.
The real challenge facing humankind right now isn’t some piece of minutia; it’s getting our civilization to recognize the larger context in which we find ourselves in the 21st Century.
Craig,
Why do you always seek to define environmentally beneficial technology through the narrow prism of your own prejudices and ideological preferences.?
Those interested in EV transport, or Solar desalination plant’s, may not wish to become advocates for a vegan lifestyle or leftist political activists!
By confusing the message and other clean(er) technologies other than those suiting your personal polit6ical/ideological agenda, you weaken and damage those striving to gather support for Clean technology solutions.
The vast majority of the public simply want better, cleaner technology, not a sermon from cracker barrel pundits insisting on everyone adheres to some quasi-religious cults belief structure.
