Political Rancor at Thanksgiving
I don’t have any empirical data to support this, but I’m guessing that arguments over Trump’s impending impeachment were actually fewer than expected. That’s because this whole thing is so completely out of hand at this point.
Who wants to argue with someone whose principal source of information is Fox News, believes that Trump represents a gift from God to save our great nation, and that he’s a good role model for our children (now 57% of Republicans with an opinion on the subject).
I know there are tens of millions of Americans with this perspective, but who on Earth wants to argue against them? I wouldn’t know how to begin such a discussion, and I’d be so ashamed of myself for entering into one I’d want to die.
Craig,
Why argue at Thanksgiving? It seems you can’t resist the temptation to parrot a little “never Trumper” propaganda.
Btw “57% of Republicans” ? Not true !
This was the result of a Quinnipiac University poll that claimed to survey 1,358 anonymous “self-identified” “Republican” voters who responded to an internet poll between March 21 and March 25, 2018.
Now, I don’t think Donald Trump is a particularly good role model for children either, but this sort of poll is just such obvious propaganda that even the NYT rejected it as “transparent”.
