Smirnoff Ad Raises Eyebrows
The ad here sent me immediately to Google and Snopes, as I couldn’t believe that a brand of this magnitude would do something so bold and risky. Might this be fake? Nope, it’s real as the day is long.
A key principle in marketing is getting attention. If it doesn’t grab the reader and compel him to go on, it really doesn’t matter what you say; it’s like putting a billboard in your basement. I used to be as outrageous and go as far in my marketing campaigns for my clients as I could possibly be without totally crossing the line.
Obviously, it’s likely to cause some level of backlash from Trump-supporters who can’t take a joke. But I suppose the reasoning here is the social media value is huge. Look at what I’m doing, right now?
Craig,
Actually, Conservatives and trump supporters are pretty pragmatic, relaxed and have a sense of humour, as indeed has the President.
The Smirnoff ad will not greatly offend.
It’s po-faced, politically correct, professionally outraged and perpetually offended liberals gathered around a cracker barrel, who lack any sense of humour.
Humour, and his ability to laugh at himself, is the President’s secret weapon which he often displays to supporters and devastates the image constructed by the leftist media.
This week in the same article, CNN, and the Guardian claimed the President was weak, not respected, mocked and ignored by the rest of the world, while simultaneously creating fear, panic and disruption by ‘bullying other world leaders!
The NYT and Washington Post claimed the President had become mentally despondent, depressed and “on the verge of mental collapse” by the thought of impeachment while simultaneously, delighting in poking fun at the process, ignoring the proceedings, believing himself invulnerable and completely “unaffected”!
The American people have grown weary of the level of hysteria from the leftist media, which inexplicably describes the first lady wearing a coat with a floral motif as “Macabre”.
I would urge you to read the excellent artcile in “The Hill” by life long Democrat Lawyer and academic Johnathon Turley:

The article “Democrats offering passion over proof in Trump impeachment”, is an excellent example of a moderate, sensible Democrat being drowned out in the rage and fury of the “madding crowd “
