Ivanka Trump Speaking at the Consumer Electronics Show
Apparently, life in the year 2020 isn’t tough enough without suggesting that Ivanka Trump, shoe designer, deliver the keynote address at the world’s largest and important electronics trade show. Here’s a conversation between a reader, Kevin, and me.
Kevin: A backlash? Gee, who could’ve imagined that?
Craig: I saw this the other day and immediately assumed it was a joke, just as I would have if I read that Greta Thunberg was going to speak at the API (American Petroleum Institute) conference. You mean this ISN’T? Can I meet the guy who had THAT idea? Hey, let’s attract the world’s top minds in business technology, who generally conduct themselves honorably, and see if they want to listen to a lecture from the daughter of a criminal sociopath.
Kevin: “Some critics say there are women with more technical experience who are better qualified to speak at the annual technology conference.” Ya think??? 🙄
Craig: Well, that’s an extremely kind and diplomatic approach. I’m sure she’s very well versed in profiting from importing shoes made in China, especially by getting her daddy to create tariff loopholes for her. If she’s good at anything that requires the least bit of honesty, however, I’m unaware of that.
Kevin: Self-awareness is not a hallmark of the Trump offspring. Tone deafness is, on the other hand!

Two old bitter guy’s sniggering about a young and beautiful woman addressing the US Consumer Technology Association (CTA)about how technology affects employment and consumer trends.
Ivanka Trump co-chairs the American Workforce Policy Advisory Board, whose members include companies like Apple, Walmart and IBM.
She also co-chairs the National Council for the American Worker, representing 400 companies, to create over 22 million new training opportunities for students and workers over the next five years.
More than 175,000 industry insiders are expected to attend this year’s CES tech expo.
Obviously, the organizers feel that most of the invitees would prefer to listen to this intelligent, vibrant young woman than a bunch of creepy old guys hang around a cracker barrel!
I know the three young members of our staff who will be attending the Expo are very positive about Ivanka Trump’s involvement.
