Wow, We Really ARE That Stupid
Whenever I come across something that I want to comment on, but it seems so totally asinine that it might be fake news, I immediately plug it into Google and see what pops up. Could the discussion at left here really have taken place? Jeanine Pirro is an actual legal professional, but one who just happens not to understand the most basic principle that guides American jurisprudence?
First of all, yes, this took place. I believe, however that she actually does understand this, and that she’s speaking on the presumption that her audience either a) doesn’t have a third grade education, or b) wants to believe this so badly that they are willing to put aside what they learned in third grade. Grasping at straws here.
In any case, it looks like that’s where we are, folks. Such a sad day.
Btw, if it doesn’t go without saying, it’s morally deplorable that a so-called news show actively makes its viewers stupid. This is utterly disgusting.
Craig,
Please, please stop straying into areas where you obviously lack any knowledge.
Jeanine Pirro is quite correct. The basis of American (and British law)is the “presumption of innocence”.
The defendant is entitled to receive that presumption, even from a prosecutor. Prosecutors should only present the evidence against the accused, not be involved in a partisan duel to persecute the accused as a person for their likability or personality.
The prosecutor is supposed to simply ague the evidence gathered without fear or favour. All the evidence, even that which may be detrimental to the prosecution or prove exculpatory.
This principle,(sadly, often ignored) is designed to offset the vast advantage the state possesses in resources against an individual accused.
Adam Schiff’s passionate and theatrical peroration, was more reminiscent of a Stalinist show trial a serious Senate deliberation.
In his own way Adam Schiff revealed the exact motivation behind the Democrat strategy.
The impeachment proceeding have turn into another embarrassing farce! Another time the “never Trumpers” have cried “wolf”, but no wolf has appeared.
It’s you, not Jeanine Pirro that doesn’t understand basic principle that guides American jurisprudence.
The underlying principle that the onus is always on the accuser, not the accused to gather sufficient evidence before a trial to convict.
Adam Schiff seems to believe that first you start a trial, then hope you can during the trial discover enough evidence!
“if it doesn’t go without saying, it’s morally deplorable that a so-called news show actively makes its viewers stupid. This is utterly disgusting”
Er,…do you really think that abusing everyone who disagrees with your muddled, inaccurate and absurdly biased opinions, actually helps?
Ah, did you learn anything from the example of your heroine’s disastrous use of the term “deplorable” ??
Oh, and btw. It would seem the American people have completely reversed the opinion on the impeachment proceedings!
Today’s aggregate national polls reveal :
Trump Job Approval 48% | Impeachment/Removal: Yes 44, No 52
This is pretty amazing, considering these polls include the three most anti-Trump weighted polls.
It would also appear a number of Democrat Senators may break ranks and vote to acquit.
Mean while it continues to build media attention of Joe Biden’s corruption….
