Goodall: Trump Has Done “Shocking Damage” to the Environment
Over the last 40 years, legendary primatologist and anthropologist Jane Goodall has won just shy of 50 of the highest honors that can be bestowed upon a scientist. It is at least in part for this reason that the world community regards her viewpoints with the utmost of respect.
Here’s a short video in which she presents a high-level view of the shocking ecological damage that has resulted from the Trump presidency. This is nothing short of disgusting.
Craig,
Jane Goodall certainly has obtained a lot of awards and recognition for her activism concerning primates.
However, I’m not sure of the real value of her life work which apart from a lot of publicity seems to consist of study the life cycle of one small group (about 8 in number) of wild Chimpanzees.
No doubt very interesting, and the plight of the world’s remaining wild primates through habitat loss is certainly of concern, but I fail to see how her few and very narrow academic qualification qualify her to speak with any degree of authority on any thing else except the social interactions of a small group of monkeys.
I would even go so far as to say her life’s work has made her completely unsuited to speak objectively or knowledgeably the vast and complex business of being responsible for the administration of a huge modern nation state!
As a citizen, Jane Goodall is entitled to hold her own social and political opinions, the same as any other citizen, but that’s all.
Oh, and Jane Goodall’s honors and awards were not “won’ in the sense of any form of qualification, they are all honorary, largely as a result of being famous as an activist.
Her sole ‘earned’ academic qualification is an special PHD from Cambridge for the thesis “The Behaviour of free-living chimpanzees” without have first obtained any lesser degrees or academic qualifications.
She has spent her life as a talking head for all sorts of fashionable, but utterly ineffectual, leftist causes, (anything with ‘peace”justice’ harmony in the title).
I don’t thing President Trump needs and expert on chimpanzee behavior to solve the myriad of problems that cross his desk each day, or then again , looking at the behaviour of the Democrat member’s of the House of Reps, maybe he does!
