Trump’s Latest Crime Spree in Michigan
From this article:
President Donald Trump’s latest target, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, told a radio station Friday that medical supply vendors informed her they’ve been told “not to send stuff” to her state amid the battle against COVID-19.
Whitmer, a Democrat, didn’t say if the orders were coming from the White House or if vendors may have been intimidated by Trump’s feud with the governor. But she did appear to link the problem to the president because she told WWJ-AM in Detroit that she tried Thursday night to call the White House to discuss the issue.
She couldn’t get through to Trump, who was at the time trashing Whitmer — whom he referred to as “that young … woman governor from Michigan” — to Sean Hannity on Fox News. “We don’t like to see the complaints,” Trump said in a phone interview.
Let’s see if we can identify the crimes committed here. At a bare minimum, this is extortion, i.e., the practice of obtaining something of value through coercion, force, or threats, coming from the Latin verb meaning “to twist.” This follows on the heels of yesterday’s cease and desist letter to television stations in Michigan that aired an ad highly critical of Trump’s handling of the coronavirus.
When viewed more carefully, it’s actually much worse; it’s mass murder. Delaying the delivery of life-saving medical supplies will result in multiple deaths of innocent people.
That’s where we are, folks.
Of course, it’s not a coincidence that this is happening in Michigan, a swing state in the upcoming presidential election. We’ll have to see if Michiganders approve of an extortionist and mass murderer in the White House, who is sending them, their friends, and their families to agonizing deaths, drowning in their own bloody mucous, in an effort to force their governor to back off on her criticism. That wouldn’t work here in California; will have to see if the good people of Michigan have different sensibilities.
