Trump’s Crimes Against Humanity: Who Cares?

• In the early weeks of the coronavirus outbreak in the US, President Donald Trump’s main focus was on keeping the number of infections low, Politico reporter Dan Diamond told NPR on Thursday.

• For that reason, Trump did not push to ensure adequate testing capabilities, Diamond said.

• “The president had made clear: The lower the numbers on coronavirus, the better for the president, the better for his potential reelection this fall,” Diamond said.

As readers know, I’ve been predicting that Americans would eventually decide they had witnessed enough crimes against humanity, and demand Trump’s removal. I admit with great sadness that I’ve been completely incorrect; about half of my fellow countrymen couldn’t care less that their president cares only about himself, and has no more regard for their lives than he does for so many cockroaches.
