More on the Feasibility of Hydrogen
Reader Markus Dirnbacher commented further on my post Feasibility of Hydrogen: The (hydrogen) delivery infrastructure does exist, e.g. ships, trucks whatever you chose. Yes, it’s not profitable yet but that’s the same for everything in the beginning. Hydrogen mobility will drive economies of scale and make hydrogen competitive in no time.
Well, I appreciate your enthusiasm for cleantech, but I need to point out two things:
a) You misunderstand the term “hydrogen delivery infrastructure.” It applies to delivery to the end user, e.g., the driver a a fuel cell-based car.
b) What you say here is what everybody’s been saying….since 1973 and the oil embargo. The phase “hydrogen economy” was coined at the time, and it’s never gone anywhere but sideways in these intervening 47 years.
