Antifa Isn’t a New Idea
Between 1942 and 1945, my father, a B-17 bomber pilot and the crew he commanded, flew missions “disturbing” 29 German oil refineries that were being used to fuel the cause of white supremacy and world fascism. They didn’t call themselves this at the time, but it could be said in retrospect that they were the “Antifa Class of 1945.”
This was a time when America had principles that included fairness and tolerance, and was pretty goddamned determined to make sure that these values wouldn’t be extinguished from the face of the Earth.
I’m not alone in thanking you for your service, Dad.
Miss you terribly.
