White House Doubles Down with Its “No Regrets” Posture

“The White House has no regrets about tear-gassing peaceful protesters to get Trump’s Bible photo.”

Of course, I want Trump to lose (then be charged, convicted and imprisoned).  But if I were advising him, I would tell him that this tack of cold indifference and infallibility needs to change.  The country is furious, and that rage is supported by people all over the globe.  Biden’s lead is soaring, and the election cake is nearly fully baked. How far do you push a strategy of hate and ignorance, when it’s clear that it’s failing?

This is perhaps Trump’s most despicable trait: his inability to back off and show the least bit of compassion.  To the shock and horror of the world, this worked extremely well for three and a half years, but now, thank God, the wheels appear to have fallen off.
