Institutionalizing Christianity in America
Here’s a bit of further conversation on Trump’s top-list candidate to replace Ruth Bader Ginsberg, Amy Coney Barrett. It’s based on my post: Shall Christianity Be Enshrined as the U.S. State Religion? In it, I reacted with some level of concern about her saying: “(A) legal career is but a means to an end … and that end is building the Kingdom of God.”
Is rebuilding the United States as a Kingdom of God a good, or even legitimate idea?
Reader: I am sorry that you are spending time and energy finding reasons to trash Amy Barrett. Is this part of the “coming together” and “no more hatred” that Democrats espouse?
Craig: I believe that standing up against the decay of our democracy is eminently worth doing.
And along those lines, here’s a quote from someone I know we mutually respect, the late Christopher Hitchens: Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity; the grave will supply plenty of time for silence.
