Some Are Better at Satirizing Trump than Others
From Andy Borowitz, writer of satire for the New Yorker: Trump claimed that, to pick up all three hundred and thirty million Americans, he had secretly launched a program called Operation Warp Bus.
I’m so frustrated with myself. Everyone knew that Trump is being both:
• Lambasted for his leaving his supporters shivering in the cold night after a late-night rally in the Midwest, some taken to the hospital for treatment of hypothermia, that they received due to the mismanagement of the buses that were supposed to take them back to their cars parked four miles away, and
• Ridiculed for his laughable promise of a vaccine for COVID-19 in the next few days/weeks, when the entirety of the medical community says that this is impossible until mid-2021 at best.
How is it possible that only Andy Borowitz is capable of conjoining the two into this classic piece of comedy?
