Trump’s Criminality: Add One More Felony
Insofar as there is video evidence to support the claim made in the meme here, it appears that Trump has committed yet one more felony: inciting violence, in this case, vehicular assault and battery.
This took place in Texas, where, if charged as a misdemeanor, a single count of vehicular assault and battery will get you up to one year in county jail. If charged as a felony, as in murder, it can carry a life sentence. The sentencing for incitement to commit assault and battery is also wide-ranging, as it can range from a minor misdemeanor to a heavy-duty felony.
Perhaps it’s easiest to leave it like this: if Trump weren’t president, if he were simply a celebrity with tens of millions of fans and encouraged them to run Democrats off the road, that would be the end of his career, and the beginning of a very long stretch in prison.
Stating the obvious, none of this will matter a damn in the election. Trump’s followers are not only OK with his crimes; they’re energized by them.
